Overview
CertWatch helps you monitor TLS certificates on endpoints you configure. All monitoring data stays on your device unless you explicitly export or share it.
Data collected
CertWatch stores the following data locally on your device:
- Hostnames, ports, and labels you add as endpoints
- TLS scan results (expiry, issuer, fingerprints, chain metadata)
- User preferences (theme, language, notification settings)
- Optional calendar event IDs when you enable calendar sync
- Diagnostic logs if you enable logging in Settings
CertWatch does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or account credentials.
Permissions
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet | TLS scans and network discovery |
| Network state / Wi‑Fi | Discovery subnet detection |
| Notifications | Certificate expiry alerts |
| Foreground service | Network discovery progress |
| Calendar read/write | Optional reminder sync |
Data sharing
- No data is sent to Adaptech servers.
- Calendar sync writes events only to calendars you select on-device.
- Export (CSV/HTML) creates files you choose to share.
Data retention
- Data remains until you delete endpoints or clear app data.
- Uninstalling the app removes the local database and preferences.
Security
- Scans use standard TLS APIs; no private keys are stored.
- Logs can be redacted in Settings.
Children
CertWatch is a professional utility not directed at children under 13.
